A Question of New Beginings

Let’s make this fun.  Since, in some ways, having my own space on the Internet is a new beginning, that shall be the theme of this blog post.  Ah, stretching out in the open doorway of the unknown - how freeing.  How scary.

So here is the Question:

If you could have a new start, what tools would you use to create the first step?

Ah, thought I was going to ask you what the new start would be, didn’t you?  Nope, new starts are all well and fine, but really, new starts are rather abstract. They are filled with hope and intentions of success.  However, with out the right tools or a plan, it can all go haywire or you can find yourself right back at the point you just left.

For instance, with for the new beginning of this blog, I did bring hope that my readers would follow me here, but I also found my own place (my own domain).  So the tools of control are now in my possession.  The fear of being locked out of my blog has left (unless I forget to pay the bills – then it is my fault).  So, I also bring self-confidence and less fear in as tools for going forward.  Behind the scenes, I also did a lot of meditating to make sure the move felt right and used self-hypnosis to keep the momentum of change occurring. Does this make sense?

So, what about you?  What tools would you use in starting something new?

I’m a creature of habit. The worst times of year for me are early spring and early fall, because every day the weather is different, so I’m constantly losing track of which coat or jacket has my car keys in it. So if I’m going to have a new start — and I will, in a few years when I go full-time in hypnotherapy — it’s going to require me to drop a whole bunch of old habits and create a whole bunch of new ones. That means I’ll definitely need:

    - Lots of self-hypnosis!!
    - Advice and support from my friends and family
    - Ways to stay in touch with the outside world once I’m no longer commuting to a job

I would need a new alarm clock. I have slept through my last three new starts, and I am sick of it.

For a new start first I would need self knowledge (spend some time exploring what emotional or mental blocks that might be in the way so I can clear them out), next I would need books or other resources to help me plan and move ahead with the new start, and third the love and support of my hubby and daughter

Perhaps the most valuable tool I have is my sincere desire to live the life of joy and abundance in every way possible that I was meant to live. While that sounds a bit “airy fairy”, what I mean by that is, I want to take risks, learn from “failures” and celebrate the lessons that keep catapulting me forward. I have been enjoying a book by Fawn Germer, titled “The New Woman Rules”. It is the stories of 50 incredibly successful women, who saw the doors of opportunity and walked through. These women are CFO’s, CEO’s and Presidents of major corporations. Reading about their path to success, they are just as real as my friends and neighbors.

The tools I would need for a new beginning would be a time machine and courage.

The new beginning would be that I would have had the courage to step out of my comfort zone of working the old safe 9-5, and started my website design business sooner. Because I truly love doing it and the rewads that come from it for me!

The tools I would need for a new beginning is…

    A laptop, and a AT&T card.

I would use a cement mixer.

When making steps with concrete, it sure beats the crap out of mixing it in a wheelbarrow by hand.
